A little-known species: sp 2

a couple of weeks ago I found in the Regional Park Calblanque ant nest Plagiolepis schmitzii parasitized by other species of the genus, but that does not appear in the literature. After consultation with Professor Xavier Espadaler of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, \u200b\u200bthe species was found to be sp 2 Plagiolepis and has yet to be described.

is a parasitic species, which lacks the worker and lives in the nests of P. schmitzii, where several of his queens live with the queens and workers of the host species (both species are polygynous). Only two other quotes from sp 2 Plagiolepis in Spain, one in Portugal and one in Morocco and this is the fifth global event.
